Usage
Do you use the pot indoors? Then we strongly recommend a pot insert.
Most of our pots are plant-proof, but not completely 100% waterproof. In some cases, generous watering can cause slight leakage. This can cause damage on a laminate or wooden floor, which is of course a shame. Therefore, always use (unless 100% waterproof is stated with the product) a pot insert.
Are you using the pot outside? Then a pot insert is not necessary.
Outside, good drainage is important. Excess rain and irrigation water must be able to drain away to prevent root rot. Therefore, make sure that the pot has a drainage hole and that the water can drain away.

Our products are low maintenance and require little care.
Has your pot gotten dirty? Then you can easily clean it with a dry cloth or with a sponge and some water (possibly with mild soapy water).
We do not recommend the use of aggressive cleaning agents and high-pressure cleaners, as they can damage the material.
For detailed maintenance instructions, please refer to our Use & Care page.

Clean your pot with a soft cloth or sponge and lukewarm water. You can also use a mild detergent or a little bit of green soap.
Always avoid harsh or chemical cleaners, abrasive sponges, and pressure washers. These can damage the surface or damage the protective layer.
By carefully wiping your pot regularly, it will stay beautiful longer and the material will retain its appearance.

Choose a pot that is at least 2 cm larger than your plant's grow pot. This gives the plant enough space to grow and leaves enough space for potting soil or hydro grains.
When choosing the right size, pay particular attention to the opening size of the pot. To do this, measure the diameter of the top of the cultivation pot and compare it with the opening diameter of the decorative pot.

You often don't have to fill large / tall pots completely with potting soil. By cleverly filling the underside, you can significantly reduce weight without sacrificing the plant.
Here's how to do it:
This way you use less potting soil, the pot becomes lighter and there is enough room for healthy growth.
Tip: when used outdoors, always ensure good drainage so that excess water does not remain in the pot.
Here's how to do it:
- Fill the soil with light materials such as hydro grains (clay pebbles).
- Or place one or more upside-down plastic cultivation pots at the bottom.
- You can also use empty, well-sealed plastic bottles.
- Fill the pot directly with potting soil, with enough space for the roots, or
- For indoor use: place a pot insert on top of the padding. Fill it with a layer of hydro grains and potting soil on top, and place the plant in it.

First, check the website to see if your pot is frost-resistant. Is that the case? Then make sure that excess water can always drain properly.
Water left in the pot can freeze and expand in frost, which can cause damage.
This is how you prepare your pot properly:
Tip: It is best to empty empty flower boxes completely and store them upside down in a dry place. This will prevent water from accumulating and causing frost damage.

This is how you prepare your pot properly:
- Check that there are enough drainage holes available.
- Make sure these holes are not clogged.
- Place the pot on pot feet, so that water can drain more easily and the pot does not stand directly on a wet surface.

A pot that is too small is usually not a good choice (with exceptions such as bonsai). The roots then have too little space to grow healthily.
A slightly larger pot is usually better, but in moderation. As a guideline, keep the pot 10–20% larger than the current root ball.
Note: a pot that is too large can cause the potting soil to stay wet longer, which can cause root rot.

- For trees or shrubs that remain in the same pot for a longer period of time, you can choose more spacious.
- For temporary planting, such as seasonal flowers, the pot may fit a little tighter.

Saucers for pots and planters actually have three main functions:
Our saucers are sold separately, matching the size and style of the pot, so that the whole looks neat.
- Water collection: they collect excess water that runs out of the pot after watering. This prevents the water from running onto the floor, table or terrace.
- Substrate protection: they protect surfaces such as wood, stone or carpeting from moisture rings, dirt and scratches.
- Moisture regulation: with some plants it can be useful if a small layer of water remains in the saucer. That water can be absorbed by the plant gradually.

The black Fiberstone planters (color code -01) from the Natural collection can be treated 2–4 times a year with our special maintenance wax.
This wax helps to keep the deep black color nice and even and protects the surface from discoloration by sun and weather influences. Regular treatment ensures that the planter retains its appearance and looks like new for longer.

We offer a touch-up pen for our Essential. This allows you to easily and neatly touch up minor damages, such as scratches or minor damage to the coating.
This keeps the finish nice and even and the pot retains its appearance, even with prolonged outdoor use.

The product page of each item states whether the pot is frost resistant.
Most of our pots are suitable for outdoor use and frost resistant, provided they are applied correctly. Good drainage is essential here: make sure that excess water can always drain through drainage holes, so that no water remains in the pot that can freeze and expand.
Please note: if water cannot escape, it can cause damage in frost - even with frost-resistant pots. Correct use is therefore decisive for its durability in winter.

Yes, all our pots are UV-resistant and suitable for long-term outdoor use. They are designed to be resistant to sunlight and other weather conditions.
However, it is important to know that slight discoloration due to prolonged exposure to sun, rain and temperature fluctuations cannot be completely prevented in the long term. This is a natural process that can occur with almost all outdoor materials.
On the product page of each article you will always find the specific product specifications clearly.

Our pots are strong and robustly designed for daily use. With normal use, they are sturdy, dimensionally stable and resistant to bumps and scratches.
Of course, they are not indestructible. Hard impact, dropping, or improper use may cause damage. Therefore, make sure you have a stable, flat surface and preferably move the pot empty to prevent damage.
When used correctly, you can count on durable and solid quality.

Most of our pots are plant-proof. This means that they are suitable for direct use with potting soil and planting.
On the product page of each item it is clearly stated whether a pot is completely waterproof or plant-proof.
Please note: our pots are not intended as vases or water basins and are therefore not suitable for filling completely with water*. When used indoors, we also recommend using a pot insert to prevent any leakage.

For tall or narrow pots in windy locations, we recommend adding extra weight at the bottom of the pot. This increases stability and reduces the risk of blowing over.
For example, you can weigh down the pot with gravel or a heavier filling material in the bottom layer. Always make sure you have a stable, flat surface.

Yes, we recommend removing the plastic nursery pot when placing a plant in a flower box. This gives the roots more room to grow and reduces the risk of root rot due to stagnant water.
Place the plant directly in potting soil (possibly with a layer of hydro grains at the bottom for better drainage), so that water can drain well and the roots can develop healthily.

Yes, almost all pots are suitable for both hydroponics and artificial plants.
For hydroponics, place the plant in a waterproof pot insert so that the water level remains well regulated and the material of the decorative pot is protected. With artificial plants, you can fill the pot directly with, for example, filling material, styrofoam or hydro granules to firmly anchor the plant.

With correct use and with the right (possible) maintenance, our pots will last for years.
The lifespan depends on factors such as placement, weather conditions and care. When the pot is applied correctly, for example with good drainage and appropriate maintenance, you can count on long-term sustainable quality.

A water meter is used in hydroponics: plants that are in hydro grains with a water reservoir at the bottom of the pot.
The gauge indicates the water level in the reservoir, so you know exactly when to refill. This prevents overwatering and dehydration and the roots always get the right amount of moisture.
Top up water until the meter shows the optimal level ('OPT') and then wait to water until the reading is back to 'MIN'.
For a detailed step-by-step explanation of how to install and use the water meter, please refer to our Use & Care page.
